Small-Scale Technology Certificates (STCs)

Small-Scale Technology Certificates (STCs) are part of the Australian Government renewable energy targets. STCs incentives can be earned by individuals or business when installing eligible small-scale-renewable energy systems.

An STC is equal to 1 megawatt hour (MWh) of renewable electricity generated or displaced by the eligible systems including eligible Econova air source heat pumps.

The number of STCs is based on the geographical location of the system installed, electricity generated or displaced in MWh and years left in the scheme ending in 2030.

Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs)

Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs) are certificates under the Victorian Energy Upgrade (VEU) program to Victorian businesses and homeowners that install eligible energy efficient upgrades to help cut power bills and reduce carbon emissions.

Each certificate represents one tonne of greenhouse gas emissions reductions.

Energy Savings Certificates (ESCs)

The NSW Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) provides financial incentives on approved energy savings equipment and appliances in NSW households and businesses. Financial incentives under this scheme are in the form of tradeable certificates, called energy savings certificates (ESCs).

Peak Reduction Certificates (PRCs)

Established in September 2021 to reduce peak electricity demand and pressure on the electricity system in NSW, the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS) provides financial incentives for businesses to implement approved activities that reduce demand for electricity during peak times.

The PDRS provides incentives for activities tha use less electricity during peak hours like approved Econova heat pump water heaters, help NSW achieve its net zero emission target, save money on electricity bills and help ensure we have a safe and reliable electricity system.
